In light of the continued winter weather effecting the city and our employees, we want to share an update on city operations for Tuesday, Jan. 27, under the city’s Inclement Weather Policy.
For Tuesday, the city will operate under “Reduced Operations.” Essential city services will continue to be provided as normal, though City Hall will not be open for walk-in business. The City Manager and a limited number of designated staff will be on site to support essential operations.
Under Reduced Operations, City Hall employees should follow directions from their department director to either report on site if designated, work remotely if approved, or use accrued leave in the order outlined by policy if unable to do either.
The John and Judy Gay Library will remain closed on Tuesday. The Recreation Center at Towne Lake, Old Settler’s Recreation Center, and the Apex Centre will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Other city facilities should coordinate their operating status through department leadership.
The City Council special meeting and joint meeting with the McKinney Economic Development Corporation will proceed as scheduled.
At this time, we anticipate normal hours and operations for all employees on Wednesday.
Please stay warm and safe, and contact your supervisor or Human Resources if you have questions.
