Updated situational flowchart for positive or exposed employees
The City of McKinney has updated its situational flowchart for employees who show symptoms, have tested positive, or have been exposed to Covid-19. These changes are based on updated recommendations from the CDC.
New recommendations for employees
Cases of Covid-19 are surging due to the Omicron and Delta variants, and the number of employees with Covid-19 has increased significantly.
Based on global trends, city leaders believe this will be a rapid but intense period of high transmission. We are hopeful the additional mitigation measures below will not be necessary long term, but rather a concerted effort to get through the next few weeks while case numbers are high. Therefore, we are making the following recommendations to keep employees safe:
• Large-group meetings should be held remotely rather than in person when possible.
• Employees are encouraged to wear masks and socially distance when possible.
If you test positive, report your case to HR and keep your supervisor and director informed throughout the process. Additional safety measures or allowances may be deemed necessary with the director’s discretion, such as working remotely or requiring additional masking in the office when employees return to work.
PPE supplies
Departments that need additional PPE like masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, or disinfecting spray should email Procurement Services at PPEsupplies@mckinneytexas.org. The email should include the type of PPE product and an estimated quantity.
Fogging after a positive COVID-19 case
If an individual in an office tests positive, the Building and Equipment Maintenance Division can use a fogging machine to disinfect the area upon request. Contact Brian Stevens to schedule service.
